Is football experience required?
No previous football playing experience is required. Our goal is to offer middle school athletes from Clayton and Brentwood school districts the chance to learn football fundamentals. They will also learn teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship. We promote physical fitness and a sense of community. We will teach your child everything they need to know to be successful. We only require regular attendance, a positive attitude, and willingness to work hard.
What equipment do we need to provide?
How many levels of play will there be?
Our goal is to grow this into a 5th through 8th grade organization, with a full schedule of games for each grade level. All grade levels will practice together, however, we will NOT put any of our athletes in a position where they are not set up for success. We are committing to league play for the 7th and 8th graders. Depending on #s of younger athletes we will look to schedule games accordingly.
Who will we be playing games against and how many games will we have?
What is the upcoming schedule for the spring and summer months?
Our plan is to participate in informational sessions at each of the elementary and middle schools during the months of March, April and May. We will also host a summer camp in conjunction with the high school team, Monday, June 8th through Thursday, June 11th.
Other tentative summer dates:
- Pad Pickup: Saturday, August 2nd, 1 – 5pm at Brentwood High School
- Practices begin the week of Monday, August 3rd
What are the expectations for practices during the school year?
Practices are extremely important for our athletes to learn the game, get used to contact and understand our playbook. We recognize that there are competing priorities with other sports. We are supportive of this. However, we do ask that our athletes attend at least 2 of the 3 scheduled practices.
How do I register my child?
Please visit our Registration page to register your child.
Is there a fee associated with playing for the team?
There is a $150 registration fee. Fees go to supporting the program’s ability to cover costs associated with insurance, equipment, uniforms, league and official fees.
We understand that registration fees can be a barrier for some families, but we want everyone to participate. If the cost is a concern, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. We’re here to help, and have options available. All inquiries will be handled privately and respectfully.
How will communications be handled between coaches, players and parents during the upcoming season?
We are planning on using TeamBot to facilitate communications with all parties. As part of the registration process, we will set up parents and players in the app.
